Welder/Fabricator – Skills Provision Ltd, New Zealand

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our client’s dynamic team in New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, welding metallic components, and performing tasks related to fabrication.

Responsibilities:

1. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and drafts to determine job requirements.
2. Use welding equipment to fuse metal components according to specifications.
3. Ensure that all welds meet the standards for strength and quality.
4. Use tools like grinders, drills, and cutting torches in the fabrication process.
5. Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
6. Adhere to safety standards and maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
7. Collaborate with a team to complete projects efficiently.
8. Keep equipment in good condition through regular maintenance.
9. Provide feedback and recommendations on design and blueprint changes when necessary.
10. Stay updated with industry developments and new techniques.

Qualifications:

1. Certificate or diploma in welding, metal fabrication, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a welder/fabricator.
3. Knowledge of various welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, and ARC.
4. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
5. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
6. Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
7. Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding and fabrication.
