Job Purpose & Responsibilities

  • Developing a responsible technology road map (MEOH/MTBE), putting it into practice, and supporting alignment with important stakeholders (business, manufacturing, and corporate functions).
  • Encourage the development of pipeline projects that enhance feedstock utilisation, yield and energy optimisation, MEOH/MTBE technology, and feedstock utilisation.
  • Establish plans for addressing any technical difficulties while conducting periodic technical reviews of the portfolio’s key MEOH and MTBE projects and efforts.
  • Assist Manufacturing Sites with troubleshooting and technological difficulties to increase efficiency and dependability.
  • Encourage MEOH/MTBE Technology Evaluations and Selection for Expansion and Large-Scale Initiatives.
  • Foster the growth of young talent within the team by creating gap assessments on critical capabilities (and coordinating these with the line manager to offer staff training, assignments, coaches, and mentors).
  • Work together to close performance benchmarking gaps with Business, Manufacturing Sites, and Other Technology Teams in order to improve SABIC Assets.
  • Assist project leaders in defining the scope of their work and the necessary skills based on the problem statement.
  • The capacity to multitask and adapt to a demanding work environment.
  • The ability to network and establish connections with various stakeholder groups, including business, manufacturing, and T&I.
  • Ability to motivate convinces, challenge, and inspire a team to achieve goals.
  • Capability to consistently provide high-quality data reports that are in line with stakeholders’ expectations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, along with certification in the relevant field of study.
  • Experience in MEOH technology (process engineering or operations) is preferred. A minimum of 15 to 20 years’ experience in technology support and deployment to chemical plants is necessary. Experience with MTBE technology is optional.
  • Strong background in operations, process engineering, and project management.
