National Medical Care Company, In 2003, GOSI and a group of partners created as a closed joint stock company. The business registered with the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) and went public in 2013. The organisation is the owner of three hospitals: National Care Hospital, built in 1966, and Family Health Care Centre, which began operations in 2017. Riyadh Care Hospital was formerly known as (Social Insurance Hospital), and it began operations in 1990.
About the job
Under the direction of the Senior Medical Technician staff, the Laboratory Technician is responsible for carrying out routine analysis in one of the Clinical Laboratory and Blood Bank departments.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures that every patient examined at the Riyadh care Hospitals and Clinics receives outstanding medical care, compassion, and understanding through his actions, either directly or indirectly.
- Completes tasks identified on the lab’s on-call/shift roster for weekdays, weekends, and federal holidays.
- When working shifts, it is possible to cycle across different lab areas to stay familiar with the procedures that might be necessary in an emergency.
- Prior to testing, evaluates the integrity of clinical specimens in accordance with policies and prepares them for testing.
- Produces daily worksheet exercises in accordance with diagnostic software.
- Follows SOPs and quality control evaluations to carry out routine testing and somewhat complex analyses.
- Starts the daily calibration of equipment for daily regular activities and gets ready common usage reagents.
- Regularly evaluates everyday tools by taking measurements of indicators in accordance with lab protocols.
- Performs new process or method evaluations directly under the direction of the department’s Senior Technician.
- Daily equipment calibration and maintenance, and keeps records of all activities.
- Adheres standard protocols to provide laboratory quality assurance and adherence to best practises.
- Keeps accurate records of patient outcomes and QC.
- Finds and informs Senior or Chief Technician of any managerial or technical problems.
- Takes part in the problem-solving stage of laboratory troubleshooting.
- Maintains an adequate stock of standard items and reagents for use in laboratories.
- Respects the quality system approach when doing laboratory tasks.
- Participates in the orientation and training of new technicians.
- Validates and accepts laboratory results under supervision prior to distribution through Laboratory Information System.
- Depending on how the department is set up, working hours could include night shifts as well as alternating weekends and holidays.
- They are aware of their critical function in educating patients and families.
- Protects the privacy of patients’ medical information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree/ ore equivalent from an approved school of medical Technology, College or University.
- Current registration with the designated authority for Medical Technologist / Technician from country of origin/ recruitment + license of Ministry of Health (MOH) in Saudi Arabia.
Experience:
- Two (2) years’ experience similar to the post.
- Five (5) years’ experience in all areas of Laboratory.
Special Requirements/ Skills:
- Written and vocal English proficiency.
- Demonstrates professionalism and strong inter-personal communication abilities.
- Practical computer skills expertise.
- Understanding of quality assurance and proficiency testing nowadays.
